GhostPaw Codex
Local memory for AI agents in one SQLite file.
Published by GhostPawJSGhostPawJS/codex
Requires local software or significant compute. Read the pinned requirements and check available memory, disk and runtime versions before setup.
What you are opening
GhostPaw Codex is GhostPawJS’s local memory engine, with a root SKILL.md, an MCP stdio server and a CLI. It records claims with sources, evidence and revision history, and supports searching, confirming and correcting stored beliefs.
How to set it up
- Read the pinned root SKILL.md and README, and confirm Node.js 24+ is available.
- Start the MCP stdio server with npx -y @ghostpaw/codex mcp, or use the Claude Code / Cursor configuration in the install card.
- Choose a local database file and try a read before allowing writes. The same package also offers CLI commands and an Agent Skill.
Requirements and third-party terms
Node.js 24+ is required for built-in node:sqlite. The documented MCP server uses local stdio and stores memory in ~/.ghostpaw/codex.db; --db or GHOSTPAW_CODEX_DB can select another file. Static quick check of the pinned source found no curl | sh or wget | sh installer. A local SQLite MCP is consistent with the inspected entry points. npx downloads and executes the published npm package, which can change independently of this pinned source. We did not run the installer or perform a full security audit. Review access before enabling tools that write or permanently delete memory.
Before you add it
- Read the instructions and review any scripts before running them.
- Check tool access, required credentials and third-party network requests.
- The source license and any resource-specific terms take precedence.
