Best Codex skills worth installing
Codex can use agent skills: folders with a SKILL.md and supporting files. This shortlist keeps only skills already in AgentSkillsDir that come with a Codex setup snippet, so every card leads to Codex instructions rather than a Claude-only path.
- 11skills
- Codexsetup on every entry

How these skills were picked
Every entry meets the same three checks. Nothing here is ranked by stars, downloads or an invented rating.
- Pinned source
- The entry links to one reviewed commit and records its licence, so you install what was checked.
- Codex setup documented
- The entry has a Codex install snippet in the directory. Skills whose Codex support is not confirmed are left out.
- Listed and recommendable
- The entry is a reviewed directory listing that is not held back from recommendations. Listed does not mean audited.
Hands-on Codex tests: not recorded yet. AgentSkillsDir has not run these skills in Codex. When tests are done, results appear here with the Codex version and date.
What counts as a Codex skill
A skill is a folder of instructions, with optional scripts and references, that the agent loads when a task matches its description. Many skills written for Claude Code use the same SKILL.md format, but install locations differ, so this list keeps only entries with a Codex-specific snippet.
Install one skill, then check it
Check out the pinned revision, place the folder where the Codex snippet says, then start a new Codex session and confirm the skill is available. Read any bundled scripts before letting Codex run them, and follow the current Codex skills documentation for paths.

FAQ
What are Codex skills?
Folders of instructions, with a SKILL.md and optional scripts or references, that Codex can load for matching tasks. They change how Codex works on a task; they do not add new tools the way an MCP server does.
How do I install a skill in Codex?
Open the skill’s entry, choose the Codex tab under Install, check out the pinned revision and put the folder where the snippet says. Start a new session and confirm the skill is available. Nothing is installed from this page.
Do Claude Code skills work in Codex?
Often the SKILL.md format is the same, but compatibility is not guaranteed and install paths differ. This list includes only entries with a Codex snippet; elsewhere in the directory, entries without one show Codex as not confirmed.
