Chrome DevTools MCP Server

Official Chrome DevTools MCP server that lets coding agents debug, inspect network traffic and record performance traces in Chrome.

Published by ChromeDevToolsChromeDevTools/chrome-devtools-mcp

What you are opening

Use it to let an agent check console errors, network requests and performance traces on a page it just changed, using the same tools as Chrome DevTools.

How to set it up

  1. Add the server with the Claude Code or Codex snippet.
  2. Restart the client; the server starts Chrome when a tool first needs it.
  3. Ask for a performance trace of a local page and review the findings.

Requirements and third-party terms

A current Node.js LTS release and Chrome. The server can read everything open in the browser profile it controls, so use a separate profile. The README installs chrome-devtools-mcp@latest; the snippets here pin npm release 1.11.0, checked on Oct 19, 2026. A Claude plugin marketplace install is also documented. Listed ≠ audited. Review scripts before running.

Before you add it

  • Read the instructions and review any scripts before running them.
  • Check tool access, required credentials and third-party network requests.
  • The source license and any resource-specific terms take precedence.
